GUEST AUTHOR FAQs

What is the purpose for interviewing clean authors?

Our goal is to help authors just like you to reach your audience and find your tribe. We believe that there are millions of readers out there desperately searching for a better way to find clean content.

What am I signing up for, and how will it work?

The meeting link will be sent to you once you book your appointment. Check you Spam folder if you don't receive it. Please ensure you have a good internet connection. Depending on your connection speed, you may need to ask others in the house to refrain from streaming during our interview. It is a video conference.

You will need a webcam. It can be the one built into your computer or an external device.

You will need headphones with a built-in mic or headphones and a microphone. Most modern ear pods have a built in mic and should be sufficient.

The podcast software is browser based and requires the Google Chrome browser to run. There is no need to download or install any videoconferencing software.

You will receive a welcome email when you make the appointment. In the email, you will find two links—one to a release form and one to a Bio form. Please make sure you have completed both in advance of your interview date. We cannot conduct the interview without the release.

All of our interviews are video recorded and will be published on all major podcast platforms as well as YouTube, Facebook, and Rumble. Please prepare a quiet space free of interruptions or background activity for the interview. The meeting will take about an hour.

How will my readers find the podcast?

The best way to grow our audience and your readership is if we all work together to promote your interview. Please post about the podcast and invite all of your subscribers and followers to subscribe to The Clean Library Podcast so that they don't miss your interview! They can find all of the links on the home page. The air date of your episode will be posted on the Featured Authors page as soon as it has been scheduled.

What will we talk about during the interview?

The topics we cover in our podcast are listed below. Not every question will be relevant to every individual, so we will adapt based on the Bio that you submit. It is an informal conversational style interview and you will be given the opportunity to share what you want your readers to hear. We may not word the questions exactly like you see here, but these are the topics we will cover.

  • Tell us about yourself and your journey to becoming an author.
  • At some point, you made the decision to write clean books. How and why did you make that decision?
  • What is your definition of clean? How would it help if there were a standardized definition throughout the industry?
  • What is your process for writing from that first inkling of an idea to the first full draft?
  • Is it challenging to “paint” accurate imagery or concepts through clean writing methods?
  • Where do you get your ideas or inspiration from?
  • What has been your biggest challenge in self-publishing (or traditional publishing)?
  • What has been your biggest challenge getting seen or building a following as a clean author?
  • Do you think writing clean books is a disadvantage in the marketplace? Why or why not?
  • What do you wish someone would have told you before you started your author journey?
  • Tell us about your book(s).
  • Are your books also available as audiobooks? How has that process been?
  • What are you working on now?
  • Other than your books, is there another clean author out there that you would recommend?

That's it!

We can't wait to meet you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out on the contact page.

Regards,

Marcus Williams & Brock Morris
